I can’t tell you how many times I’m asked for referrals in the Wedding Industry.  Each time I’m so flattered that I’m even asked!  Because of this, I like to keep a pretty thorough list of wedding industry professionals in my arsenal to help my Brides & Grooms out should they be on the hunt for a vendor to help their big day come full circle.

This edition of the ANP Vendor Spotlight Series features Brandy, owner of Simply BeFitness! She is a Certified Personal Trainer, Nutritional Coach, Educator and a good friend of mine.  I actually met Brandy back in 1996 at Adamson Middle School in Rex, GA.  I’ve known her since 6th grade!  How’s that for a #tbt ???  She was always so sweet and I’m so proud to see how she has excelled not only on the business front but on the personal front as well (Mom of 2).

Tell me a little about yourself? 

I am a 10 year educator, fitness fanatic turned personal trainer and mother of two currently residing in Stone Mountain, Georgia. I attended Florida A&M University where I earned my bachelors degree and later my masters degree, both in education. My goal is to truly make a difference in the fitness world and show women that they can use fitness as a tool to evolve and empower.

Where are you from?

I am an Army Brat born in Warner Robins Ga. I’ve lived in Kentucky, Texas, Europe and then the Middle East.

What hobbies do you enjoy?

My hobbies include exercise, being an extreme foodie and traveling near and far.

Any Pet Peeves?

Conformity and Shoes/Travel bags on the bed.

What made you decide to become a Personal Trainer/Nutritional Coach?

I wanted to become a personal trainer and nutrition coach because in my own experience with diet and exercise it makes me a more balanced Brandy! I am at peace!

Why is it important to hire a Personal Trainer/Nutritional Coach to help you get in the shape you want for your wedding day?

It is important to hire a Personal Trainer/Nutritional Coach to assist a bride in getting the shape she deserves because it provides her with a true accountability partner. This personal trainer is someone who believes that being in good physical shape is an entity that encompasses what it means to live your best life! Why not look and feel the best you’ve ever felt celebrating the time of your life in holy matrimony?!

Can you offer any advice to brides and grooms looking to hire a Personal Trainer/Nutritional Coach? 

When looking to hire a personal trainer/nutritional coach you should make your choice is based off of your intuition. I am big on positive vibes…listen to them! In addition to this, you should also ask questions about their personal success and the success of their current and previous clients when determining if a trainer is a good fit for you.

What services do you offer to your clients?

I offer on-site, mobile and virtual personal training services to my clients. In addition to these services, clients also have the option to utilize and/or provide input in the development of their own customized meal plan. Clients also have access to me as their personal trainer for questions or concerns that may arise throughout the client-trainer partnership.

What’s the best part about working with Brides?

The best part about working with Brides is being entrusted to be a key component in one of the most important times of her life. It is an honor that I wholeheartedly charge myself with along the journey to the BIG DAY and beyond!

Any fitness/wellness trends you wish would go away?

I personally am not a huge fan of extreme waist training as I feel it isn’t necessary to achieve your desired body type. With hard work through the physical/mental challenges that you are faced with in fitness, a healthy balanced diet is also key in order to maximize your overall achievements.

How do you ensure your clients will have the best experience with your business?

By building a positive client trainer relationship where parties are able to speak on their expectations and vice versa to ensure the goals and objectives align.

What’s you motivational style? How do you keep your clients motivated?

I am interactive and engaging with my clients. I have a personal approach that includes a level of openness and transparency used as client motivation. This assists in motivating my clients, along with tracking their progress where it can be referred back to. Challenges are also used to motivate, unite and empower clients on their fitness journey.

Describe a typical session with you?

A typical session with me is one that encourages. One with high energy and laughable moments, but nonetheless moments that push the mind and challenge the body.
