Time for installment #2 of my Love In The City Series!!!
Alicia, 30 & Matt, 34 Fitch, married since 2015, are the proud owners of Brighter Affairs, one of Atlanta’s leading Event & Wedding Planning companies. With Alicia as the Lead Planner and Matt in the DJ Booth, they consistently create something very special! Together they have produced some incredible weddings and events and have been featured everywhere from The Knot, The Huffington Post and Rolling Out Magazine.
The success of Brighter Affairs isn’t the only special thing Alicia and Matt have cooked up… Alicia just gave birth this month to their first child, a HANDSOME baby boy named Max!
I met up with them for a Maternity Session and instantly fell in love with their calm and fun relationship. It’s very apparent that they compliment each other well and the love and respect they have for one another other flows effortlessly!

How long have you been in Atlanta?:
Matthew was born and raised in Atlanta. Alicia, originally from Hartford, Connecticut, has lived in Atlanta since 2003
What are some of your favorite places to go or things to do in Atlanta?
We love everything about Atlanta! We’re always riding around the city looking for new places to play.
When tough times come in the marriage what is your advice?
Matt: When you’re wrong, apologize and when you’re right, forgive.
Alicia: If you know your partner is doing their best, accept their efforts. Don’t judge or scold them, love them and support them and they will more than surpass your expectations.
What do you think is the best part about living in Atlanta?
The best part of living in Atlanta is being a part of such a thriving city for families and small businesses.
What is one thing you love about your spouse?
Alicia: My favorite thing about Matt his ability to always see the positivity in all situations.
Matt: My favorite thing about Alicia is her vision and work ethic. She always finds and works towards positive outcomes, no matter the scenario.
How do you balance work, children, and love? Any tips?
We always to take time to be together outside of work. We have a rule in our family to always eat dinner together. We’re event planners, so we don’t mind being at home on our off days. An evening eating take-out and streaming our favorite tv shows is the perfect date night in.
What is one piece of advice you can give to soon to be married couples?
Friendship is the most important aspect of our marriage. Be sure that your marriage is founded in friendship first.
Are there any books, workshops or public figures that you recommend that you have helped you in your marriage? Who do you recommend?
No one in particular, but we try to establish “rules” that promote our love and happiness.
